The Beardless Coffee is a lifestyle and family blog with a large emphasis on mental health awareness. I’m Melinda and I live with generalized anxiety and depression. It turns out that I have lived with mental illness for most of my life. It wasn’t until about 2013 until I actually started to learn about my mental illnesses and the role trauma played in my life. It wasn’t until 2017 that I really started to prioritize healing and coping with my mental health.
Mental illness has, for a long time, been looked at as a weakness. Many people still do see it has a cop out or an excuse. Let me be the first to say: If you share that belief – this blog isn’t for you.
Learning about mental illness and how important it is FOR EVERYONE to prioritize mental health has opened my eyes as to why so many people suffer in silence – children included. Mental illness has, for a long time, been looked at as a weakness. Many people still do see it has a cop out or an excuse. My goal is to create a safe place for people to openly talk about their mental struggles without being told to “snap out of it” or “get over it”. I know what it’s like to be on a journey to self discovery/self awareness and I want TBC to be a place that helps you understand that you’re not alone.
The Beardless Coffee is a place where, together, we learn to be more empathetic, less judgemental, more generous, less wasteful, more mindful, less toxic, MORE CONFIDENT, & LESS INSECURE!
